MyRtise & Curtis Larson

Myrtice and Curtis Larson are natives of Bosque County, Texas; he from Clifton and she from Cranfills Gap. Curtis graduated from Clifton High School, spent time on the family farm, and volunteered for the Army Air Corps. When he returned from the European Theater of War, he attended Clifton College, and earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degress from North Texas State Teachers College. He was recalled to military service during the Korean crisis.

Myrtice graduated from Cranfils Gap High School, attended Clifton Junior College, and pursued her teaching career in Fairview, Cayote, Prosper, and Fort Worth Public Schools. She also taught at Appalachian State Teacher s College in North Carolina and at North Texas State Teachers College in Denton where she earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees.

They were married December 26, 1948. Myrtice was Texas' youngest administrative supervisor while she worked in McKinney ISD for four years. They moved to Arlington ISD in 1953, where she served as reading specialist, elementary.

Curtis taught at Speer and Thornton Elementary schools and became principal at Johnson Station Elementary and later at Short Elementary. Together, Myrtice and Curtis contributed 74 years to the education field.
